      Title: BUTTER BUD COOKIES

    1/2 c  Brown sugar
    1/2 c  White sugar
    1/2 c  Butter
    1/2 c  Shortening
      1 ea Egg
      2 c  Flour
      1 ts Cream of tartar
      1 ts Soda
    1/8 ts Salt
      1 ts Vanilla
 
  Cream butter,shortening & vanilla, add beaten egg. Add dry
  ingredients and mix well. Roll tsps. full into balls, put on baking
  sheet and press finger in center fill with jam or jelly. Bake in 350
  oven 10 - 12 min.
